Cheap Breast Implants – Why Cheap Will Cost You Heaps

Cheap breast implants aren’t really something you might want to get without first looking into a few reasons why this might be bad for you. Now I know that the breast implant prices are really expensive and that for some of you, this is the “must have” investment for yourself. But let me give you a run down on why some of these cheap breast implants are actually really bad for you.

Standards

A standard breast implant surgery in the U.S. can run anywhere from 5,000 to 15,000 dollars depending on the cost inclusive of surgeon’s fee, operating room fee, anesthetic and maybe in overnight cost. Now if you’re like me, looking at those numbers and thinking well 5,000 dollars ain’t so bad, wait till you get a load on what they’ll say next, that the price of surgery is dependant on the shape of your body, breast and many other factors, thus making the range of 5,000 dollars the bare minimum.

Alternatives

Since I was in the look out for alternatives, I did find out that there are other places that perform breast implant surgery’s for cheap (take India for example). However, they require you to either travel to a foreign country, have compounded cost due to the currency exchange or even other forms of medical taxes, travel expenses, hospital fees, and differing rates that can even stack the total pass 15,000 dollars.

Putting the cost aside, I can tell you that your next concern would be the quality of the implants. Now the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have only a limited selection of implant types which are either saline or silicon that are safe and extensively studied upon and tested. Here’s where it might get bad, other foreign countries do not have such stringent guidelines on what implants are safe for use. This increases the chances that if something bad might happen, like a rupture or god forbid a capsular contracture, you’ll be paying not just with your money but your health as well. Any corrective surgery will definitely cost you more, and once again if you take in the cost of medication and unpaid leave due to surgery… well you get the picture.

There are also other cosmetic reasons why getting cheap breast implants might be a bad idea. A reoccurring theme would be the scar left behind by such a surgery. Skilled or expert surgeons make small incisions on our breast to insert these implants. With inexperienced or unskilled surgery, the incision made could lead to massive scarring, something you might like to think about as an unnecessary trade off or a bigger blow to your inner self consciousness.

Regardless of where you do get your implants, there will be repair or revision surgeries over the course of your life. Ideally it would be better to consult the same surgeon for your repair or revision surgeries, which makes going for implants abroad another minus point. More importantly, making the decision to have breast implants is a life long commitment to caring for not only your body and self image but also the implants itself.
